Cancellation and refunds

Prices and what they include

Every price shown on this site is in US dollars and includes one-to-one tuition. In-person programs are priced per week and run Monday to Friday. Accommodation, airport transfers and the one-time registration fee are listed separately and never credited against tuition.

Deposits and balances

In-person reservations can start with a deposit. The remaining balance is due —, before your first class. If you do not pay the balance on time we may have to release your teacher and your room.

Online packages are paid in full when you book. The hours are valid for the number of days shown on the package, counted from your first class. Unused hours are not refunded, but you can usually move them to a later course — ask us.

Cancelling

• More than 14 days before you start: full refund of everything paid, including the deposit.
• 8 to 14 days before you start: we refund half of the tuition paid. The registration fee is not refunded, because the teacher and the course slot are already committed.
• Fewer than 8 days before you start: tuition is non-refundable, because by then we cannot reliably re-sell that week.
• After classes have started: the remaining weeks of tuition are non-refundable. Any unused balance is not credited either.

Accommodation and airport transfers follow the same schedule, except that a host family is only non-refundable within 7 days of arrival, since we must give the family notice.

Changing your dates

Changes are free up to seven days before you start, and we will always try to move you rather than charge you a cancellation. Subject to teacher and host family availability, and to any difference in price if the new dates fall in high season.

If we cannot deliver

If a teacher is ill or a flight is cancelled and we cannot cover your classes, we reschedule them at no cost. If we cannot reschedule, we refund the tuition for the classes you did not receive. We would rather lose a week than teach you badly.

Bank transfers

Bank transfer reservations are held until the payment arrives, normally within two working days. Tell us as soon as you have sent it and we will confirm your dates the same day.

Health, safety and conduct

Tell us about any medical condition, allergy, disability or dietary requirement when you book, so we can plan classes and a host home properly. We are a language school, not a medical facility: if you need medication or ongoing care, please speak to us first so we can be honest about what we can do.
